Living a Zen Life
I start each day with a Meditation - then I slowly rise up.
Grab a cup of coffee- write my intensions for the day. -
Each day I have a purpose - even if its just one thing.
Do some form of exercise - Yoga, Nature walks, and swimming are my go to.
By 9:00 I am ready to start my day - what ever that may be.
I have learned to focus- just on one thing at a time. Not have my mind jump from one thing to another
I have learned that I can not sit at the computer for hrs. at a time . Doing so - my mind gets mushy and not sharp. So every 2 to 3 hrs I take a break - do 10 min of yoga, or some form of exercise .
I have learned and accepted I can not go go go like I used to. I try to end my day out in the field by 1:00. Home to rest for an hour. Either take a nap, or just meditate. My Body and Mind need to rest and rejuvenate.
After I am fully rested - I will do office work - Answer emails - text and calls. By 5:00 - 6:00 the latest I am done.
Day ends with yoga- a swim - relaxing in spa - or resting on sofa reading a book .
I no longer force things - If its not meant to be than I just let it go
I have let a lot of negative people in my life go.
If I do not finish everything I intended to finish for the day - I have learned its not the end of world - it can be done the following day.
I have learned - to slow down - what is the rush?
I have learned to be more patient with projects - Rome was not built in a day
If I do not understand something - why struggle ??? Let it go - hire someone else to do. Example not good at computer drafting - sub contract out . Or not good at house keeping - hire Cleaning Crew.
If I get - Stressed - Frighten - Angry - Stop breath - count to 10. Turn some relaxing music on. Or have a 5 min pity party and then let it go. Sometimes you just need to let it out.
Only do what is essential for the day.
Tune out Negative News - Read it - Listen to it - But than let it go - what is the point of thinking about it all day.
Office work - this is a major one !!!! Do emails only in the morning and at the end of the day. No need to have my head spin on this one. Turn phone to silent. No need to be hooked to it all day!!!! Look at phone once an hour - only reply to calls and text - that are essential - the rest can wait till its office hour.
Take one day a week - totally off to self- NO WORK - NO Social Media, My Body and MIND - need a day to rest .
I eat a clean healthy diet .
I read - write and learn new things all the time.
I set attainable goals - for self and project's. Taking baby steps to achieve - so I do not feel overwhelmed. - example for work - today I will only concentrate on getting selecting Tiles, counter tops and back splash. The next day - Appliances - etc. So by the end of the week - I have selected everything for the kitchen remodel.
Not taking on to much, learning to say no. I only now take on 3 clients at a time - sometimes less - If the client really wants me - they are put on a waiting list. I am happy to say I am now booked till 2024.
If I make a mistake - its not the end of the world - I now let it go - everyone makes mistakes.
I have learned to except life's challenges
Its been a Journey to get here. I am looking forward to Living the rest of my life a Zen Peaceful Life
